NAPLES, Fla. A 31-year-old convicted felon is accused of threatening deputies as he was getting arrested, the Collier County Sheriff’s Office said.

Deputies responded to an apartment at 10625 Noah’s Circle on Friday regarding a domestic disturbance call. The woman who called said her husband, Melvin Presley, took off in her gray Hyundai Sonata and was “going to come home and hurt her,” deputies said.

Shortly after the deputies arrived, they saw Presley speeding through the parking lot searching for his wife. When deputies confronted Presley, they noticed he was extremely intoxicated and discovered his license had been suspended, according to the sheriff’s office.

When deputies arrested Presley, he threatened them numerous times, and even said he wanted to kill them.

Presley is in custody facing assault against a law enforcement officer and DUI charges with no bond set.
