BONITA SPRINGS, Fla. Bobcats, Bull Sharks and Ospreys.

Those are the three finalists for the nickname of the soon-to-open Bonita Springs High School.

The public can vote online for one of those three or submit a write-in idea on the School District of Lee County’s website.

Votes are also being taken for three color combinations: blue and green, Carolina blue and white, and scarlet and gray.

Voting ends Monday. The principal will consider the results and make the final decision, the school district said.

Jeff Estes Jr., currently the assistant principal at East Lee County High School, will become the Bonita Springs High School principal pending school board approval. The school will open to a freshmen-only class this fall in a portable campus at Estero High School.
