City of Palms to celebrate Thomas Edison's 170th birthday

FORT MYERS, Fla. Saturday would have been Thomas Edison’s 170th birthday, and Fort Myers will celebrate perhaps its most famous resident of all-time.

Birthday parties in Edison’s honor will take place at 10 a.m. on Friday and Saturday at the Edison and Ford Winter Estates on 2350 McGregor Blvd. The festivities will feature cake, live music and other performances.
