PUNTA GORDA, Fla. — The siblings of an accused killer were called to testify Friday in a cold-case murder trial.

David McMannis is accused of killing 19-year-old Tara Sidarovich. She was home alone waiting for a plumber in 2001 and disappeared.

Her remains were found nine months later in the woods off Burnt Store Road, according to deputies.

Phillip Barr, who was convicted for his involvement in the murder in 2015, returned to the stand so the jury can note his size and demeanor.

The state focused on an interview with Wayne McMannis, David McMannis’ brother, had with investigators following Sidarovich’s death.

McMannis’ sister also testified, becoming emotional at times when she spoke of her love for her brother and his relationship with their mother, who died of cancer.

The testimony appeared to bring McMannis to tears.
