2-vehicle crash creates roadblock in Estero

ESTERO, Fla. — At least three people were injured in a crash Wednesday morning at the intersection of Three Oaks Parkway and Copperleaf Boulevard, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The two-vehicle crash happened at around 8:45 a.m and created a roadblock for northbound lanes of Three Oaks Parkway.

The severity of the injuries is not known, though all three were hospitalized, the Lee County Sheriff’s Office said.

One of the two small SUVs involved caught fire, according to the sheriff’s office. Crews had to rescue a driver from one of the cars.

The cause of the wreck is not known.

No further information was immediately available.
