Woman hospitalized after Fort Myers condo fire

FORT MYERS, Fla. — A woman was taken to the hospital Wednesday night after a condo fire near downtown, the Fort Myers Fire Department said.

Fire crews responded at 7:43 p.m. to a call from the ninth floor at Pointe Royale on 1910 Virginia Ave.

Investigators said a pot caught fire while it was cooking on the stove.

One person was transported to the hospital in cardiac arrest.

The state fire marshal is investigating the fire.
