SWFL charity donates hundreds of toys to children in need

FORT MYERS, Fla. — Midwest Food Bank hosted the first annual “Families First” Christmas Experience event Saturday.

The food bank donated over 400 toys to children from Valerie’s House, Golisano’s Children’s Hospital and the “Help A Diabetic Child Foundation.”

“We see dreams coming true,” said event chair Jeanne Sweeney. “A lot of children don’t have the opportunity to see Santa Claus.”

Decorated Christmas trees at the event were also auctioned off to raise funds for programs and services at the food bank.
