NAPLES, Fla. — Family and friends gathered at Golden Gate Boulevard Saturday to remember a father of four who was killed last year in a crash involving a suspected drunk driver.

Cecil Riner was with his wife were driving on Golden Gate Boulevard on their way to a Christmas party when they were hit head-on by a suspected drunk driver.

“Please don’t drink and drive, I mean there’s no excuse for it,” said Jessica Riner, Cecil’s wife. “You can take an Uber, you can take a taxicab, get a friend. My four kids now have no father and I lost my husband at 33 years old because someone made a foolish decision.”

Rene Miles, the driver accused of killing Riner, is facing several charges, including driving under the influence.

Police said Miles hit the car in front of him. That car collided with Riner’s van, flipping the van onto its roof.
