Fort Myers woman links Army jacket to soldier’s widow

Published: Updated:

FORT MYERS, Fla. — A woman who spends her winters in Fort Myers was shocked to find that the U.S. Army jacket in her closet she thought was her father’s had two different names inscribed in it.

One of those names is that of a man who served in World War II. The woman, Kathy Bold, whose father also served during the war, will soon turn the jacket over to the soldier’s widow.

But mystery still shrouds the identity of the other name, which appears only as “R. McDonald.”
