Suspect sought in Fort Myers carjacking

FORT MYERS, Fla. — A man was punched repeatedly as his car was stolen during a carjacking Tuesday night, Fort Myers police said.

An unidentified suspect fled in the victim’s 2005 Maroon Hyundai Sonata, according to police. There is damage on the left rear corner bumper, which happened when the car was stolen.

The victim first encountered the suspect at 3614 Cleveland Ave., where the suspect asked for a ride, police said. As they drove near 2160 McGregor Blvd., the victim asked the suspect to leave. The suspect attacked the victim and ordered him out of the car.
