CLEWISTON, Fla. — One person is dead and four others are injured following an overnight shooting, the Hendry County Sheriff’s Office said.

Deputies found Anthony Holder, 28, unresponsive on the ground at about 11 p.m. Wednesday in the Harlem Gardens community. He was pronounced dead shortly thereafter, according to the sheriff’s office.

Larry Jackson, who was Holder’s friend, described his death as heartbreaking.

“It’s a sad scene,” Jackson said. “I mean, you could feel the sadness throughout the community this morning… it’s crazy.”

Multiple gun shots rang out from another area of Harlem Gardens while deputies were tending to Holder, the sheriff’s office said. Deputies found the four injured people after those shots were fired.

One of the scenes took place near 1068 Harlem Academy Ave., a location commonly known as “The Blue Store,” a source said.

Investigators are unsure of a motive for the shooting, but they do not believe that the community is in danger. No suspect has been identified.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to call Hendry County Sheriff’s Office Det. J. Conyers at 863-674-5600 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS (8477). Callers may be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000 if a tip leads to an arrest.
