SOUTH FORT MYERS, Fla. — The National Honor Society students at South Fort Myers High School raised $9,670 in just 19 hours earlier this month to help student Tre Daniels get a new wheelchair

However, the NewsPress recently reported those same students have raised more money to help 19-year-old Clarissa Nova, another fellow student in need of a new wheelchair.

The students started a GoFundMe page for Daniels on Nov. 2 with the goal of raising $5,000, but the page exceeded their expectations.

When the group realized Nova also needed a wheelchair, they decided to raise the goal to $15,000. Now, the GoFundMe has over $10,000 in donations.

Students say they will continue to raise money as long as there is a need.

Donations can be submitted through the GoFundMe page or with a check addressed to the SFMHS Wheelchair Fund at 14020 Plantation Road.
