Cape Coral OKs controversial development plan

Published: Updated:

CAPE CORAL, Fla. — The City Council confirmed a plan Monday that would provide for a hotel, shops, restaurants, a marina and other development on 48 largely undeveloped acres in the northwest corner of the city.

The decision to move forward with the Seven Islands project met with staunch opposition from several residents concerned that it would drastically change their neighborhood.
