CAPE CORAL, Fla. — The City Council’s decision to tentatively OK a plan for a mixed-use commercial and housing development in northwest Cape Coral drew the ire of residents Monday.

Many in attendance at a council meeting expressed opposition to the council’s decision to allow buildings of up to eight stories in height at the Seven Islands development, which would include a hotel, shops, restaurants and a marina, among other features.
