SOUTH FORT MYERS, Fla. — Students at South Fort Myers High School raised $9,670 in just 19 hours to help a fellow student in need of a new wheel chair.

The National Honor Society’s original goal was to help Tre Daniels afford one by collecting $5,000 by Nov. 18, but their GoFundMe page exceeded expectations.

Students like Gabrielle Taveras, an NHS member at SFMHS was enthusiastic about this campaign.

“We wanted to help people we love to help people… this is what NHS is all about helping the community helping the kids,” Taveras said.
