Man dodges bullets in attempted Punta Gorda robbery

PUNTA GORDA, Fla. – A man dodged bullets in an attempted robbery disguised as a car sale Friday afternoon, the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office said.

The man said he discussed the car with the suspect before agreeing to meet on the 27000 block of South Twin Lakes Drive before 12:30 p.m. When he arrived, the suspect demanded money, then began shooting as many as three rounds, deputies said.

No items were stolen and no injuries were reported, deputies said.
