FORT MYERS, Fla. — A zombie-themed pub crawl was held in downtown Fort Myers on Saturday night almost a year after the ZombieCon shooting. Some businesses didn’t participate in the event out of respect for last year’s tragedy. However, people like Chris Webb weren’t concerned about another shooting and viewed it as a way of bringing the community together. “It is unfortunate timing, but I think the show must go on,” Webb said. “If this happened at any other event would they cancel those?” Webb attended ZombieCon last year and was excited about the pub crawl. “I personally drive a hearse,” Webb said. “I enjoy Halloween very much and anytime I can come out and celebrate a good time, I always do.” A portion of the proceeds from the event are being donated to a local charity. Police are still asking anyone with information about the shooting last year to contact authorities.
