Red tide hazard issued for Collier County coast

NAPLES, Fla. – A red tide hazard has been issued by the National Weather Service for central Collier County over concerns of red tide.

The hazard was put into effect Thursday and extends through Monday night. Tests results for red tide produced high levels of the Karenia brevis organism.

Red tide can cause respiratory irritation and kill marine life.
