Tropical Storm Ian forms in Atlantic, poses no threat

FORT MYERS, Fla. — Tropical Storm Ian has formed in the Atlantic, the National Hurricane Center said.

The system, which is about 1,140 miles southeast of Bermuda, is no threat to land as forecast models show a north-northwestward movement over the next several days. It’s currently moving northwest at 13 mph with maximum sustained winds near 40 mph, the Hurricane Center said.
