FORT MYERS, Fla.- The American Academy of Pediatrics does not recommend this year’s nasal flu vaccine. The CDC says the popular FluMist is sub-par. That leaves parents and pediatricians with only one option, the flu shot. Dr. Annette St. Pierre-Mackoul stopped by the studio to discuss this year’s cold and flu season.
Prevention is the key:
- Wash hands frequently.
- Use hand sanitizer if you cannot wash.
- Cough and sneeze into your arm or shirt.
- Stay home if you’re sick.
- Disinfect keyboards, phones, door knobs, etc.
