FORT MYERS, Fla. — Soaring heat indexes will make it feel like it’s 95 to 100 degrees across Southwest Florida by late afternoon Thursday. Actual temperatures will top out near 93 on a day that begins with increased humidity, so it will feel uncomfortable for some. Temperatures will be in the 70s when most wake up in the morning, rising into the upper 80s and close to 90 before noon. Skies will be sunny early, with clouds developing around 10 a.m. and a slight chance of rain in the mix from 11 a.m. to noon. A few spotty showers will be around for the afternoon, when there will be a mix of sun and clouds. A couple of lingering storms will persist into the evening before falling apart around and after midnight.
