MIAMI BEACH, Fla. (AP) – Authorities say a 29-year-old Colombian national soccer player has been arrested on a domestic violence charge after an altercation at a Miami Beach hotel.

Pablo Armero remained jailed on a $1,500 bond Wednesday, a day after his arrest. Colombia beat Haiti in exhibition play Sunday in Miami.

An arrest report said police were called to the Metropolitan Hotel and found a woman missing hair from the top of her head. Media outlets report Armero and the mother of his children gave police differing accounts of what happened.

Armero said they returned to the hotel after drinking Monday night and she asked him to cut her hair. She says that in anger he pulled her hair extensions out and cut her hair.

Jail records don’t indicate whether he’s hired a lawyer.
