Victim identified in Fort Myers homicide investigation

FORT MYERS, Fla. – A 22-year-old man, Eddie Powell, was found dead just south of Six Mile Cypress at the 16000 block of South Tamiami Trail on Sunday before 3:15 a.m., Lee County deputies said.

Witnesses said Powell was shot. Deputies are investigating the incident as a homicide, but have not provided any further details.

The owner of Oasis Hookah Lounge said his business was closed at the time of the incident.
