Feisty gator caught in North Naples driveway

NORTH NAPLES, Fla.-A feisty 5-foot female gator was trapped in a driveway on Hampton Circle after homeowners called for help.

The gator was spotted around 6 p.m. Monday sitting near a van at a townhome in the 700 block of Hampton Circle.

The trapper captured the 5-foot gator in just under 20 minutes.

A little girl who lived at the home says she spotted the gator earlier at the neighborhood lake and said it was not afraid of people. She named the gator “Lisa.”

If you feel endangered or believe wildlife is in danger call the 24-hour wildlife alert hotline. The number is 1-888-404-3922. Experts say if you spot a gator stay 30-feet away, they can run up to 30 mph. And remember, it is illegal to feed an alligator; it’s a felony.
