NORTH FORT MYERS, Fla.- A North Fort Myers Wal-mart remains temporarily out of business after a car slammed into an electrical box and knocked the power out for much of Friday afternoon and late into the night. Employees are stationed at the entrances and exits, turning away customers. Lee County Sheriff’s deputies are patrolling the store until power can be restored. Shoppers were evacuated from the Wal-Mart, 545 Pine Island Rd, following a car fire that cut off power to the store. The car hit an electrical box outside of the store before erupting into flames, firefighters said. It is unknown at this time who was driving the vehicle. No injuries have been reported.
