FMPD arrests 1, seizes drugs during search warrant

FORT MYERS, Fla.- A man is facing multiple charges including possession of a firearm by a convicted felon after the Fort Myers Police Department served a search warrant on a home on the 2900 block of Thomas Street.

Eric Edison, 30, was arrested early Thursday morning when authorities moved in on a home where they say drug sales took place.

Inside the apartment, authorities found 3.5 grams of crack cocaine, 3.2 grams of cocaine Hcl, eight pills of Hydromorphone, and a Smith and Wesson 380 caliber semi-automatic handgun.

Edison is also facing charges of possession of cocaine and a controlled substance with intent to sell within 1000 feet of a school.
