FORT MYERS, Fla. – A custody hearing to determine the future of Mark and Teresa Sievers’ children was rescheduled on Monday.

Mark Sievers appeared in court Monday, but the hearing was continued until April because the Department of Children and Families has not served Mark Sievers with a petition for dependency, which is a document that would explain why the agency is removing the Sievers children from his custody.

Mark Sievers was arrested last month for planning his wife, Teresa Sievers’ murder. He arranged for their daughters to stay with family friends in Collier County. Attorneys were expected to update the judge on several studies of families and friends interested in gaining custody of the children.

Mark Sievers is granted phone calls with his daughters while he is in custody.
