Young man fatally shot during Miami Spring Break, no details

MIAMI BEACH, Fla. (AP) – A young man has died after being shot in Miami Beach near a large crowd of Spring Breakers.

Miami Beach police said the man was shot in the chest shortly after midnight Sunday on Ocean Drive and later died at the hospital. No other details were released and the victim was not identified. Another shooting happened less than 20 minutes later a few blocks away, but it doesn’t appear anyone was hit.

Police said they recovered four shell casings and were working viable leads.

The shootings come amid Miami’s sometimes rowdy Spring Break. Police shut down a portion of Ocean Drive for more than an hour because of unruly spring break revelers Friday night after a crowd migrated off the beach and onto the road, resulting in small fights. Police said some threw objects at passing cars.
