TICE, Fla.- A man led Lee County deputies on a wild chase before driving into the water near the Billy’s Creek Commerce Center in Tice on Friday.

Deputies attempted to pull over the driver, who has not been identified yet, on Interstate 75 but he took off. The suspect drove a Ford Focus right into a creek near Corporation Circle and tossed two handguns into the water, authorities said.

“There was like ten cops over here, next thing you know he’s laying down over there, giving up,” said Ryan Lane who works nearby and witnessed authorities take down the suspect. “Guy come walking up to me asking me if he could go sit in this truck over here, and I was like ‘no, you can’t go sit in that truck, that ain’t my truck to tell you to go sit in.’ He was like all wet.”

A small amount of crack cocaine was found inside the car and deputies also found the two guns tossed by the suspect into the water.
