FILE PHOTO: MGN DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (AP) – A central Florida father and son are accused of stealing $300 worth of scratch-off lottery tickets. Volusia County Sheriff’s investigators say 54-year-old Robert Carbonell and 28-year-old Robert Carbonell Jr. were caught Saturday after surveillance video captured the father coming back to the convenience store to cash in a $90 winning ticket. The Daytona Beach News-Journal (http://bit.ly/1PyIDMY ) reports the theft took place Jan. 18 at a Circle K store. A store manager discovered the theft during an inventory of lottery tickets. He reviewed surveillance video and saw that one man distracted a clerk while the other crossed the counter and took the tickets. A South Daytona police officer familiar with the Carbonells identified them and they were arrested. Father and son remain in jail. Records don’t indicate whether they have attorneys.
