Two shot near Dunbar High School

FORT MYERS, Fla.- Two people were shot near the intersection of Towles Street and Edison Avenue Thursday afternoon, Fort Myers Police said.

The intersection is located near Dunbar High School.

Officers received the shooting call at 1:48 p.m., the department said. Both victims were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries and are expected to be OK.

Fort Myers police received information of a silver or grey Chevy Equinox with dark tinted windows as a possible suspect vehicle.

Classes were dismissed for the day when the shooting happened, said Amity Chandler, Lee County Schools spokeswoman. Any students remaining in the school for extracurricular activities were kept inside until officers arrived, Chandler said.
