PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. – Two teens are recovering after being hit by a car Wednesday night, while walking along Loveland Boulevard in Port Charlotte.

Troopers say 15-year-old Oscar Ramirez and 18-year-old Eugene Rider were rushed to the hospital after the crash.

“This street is very, very dark, not well lit at all, and it’s like the Indianapolis Speedway,” said Maureen Garafalo, who lives near where the crash occurred.

Thursday, debris from the accident was left, scattered on the road.

“Yes, it’s very dangerous, there’s hardly any lights, very dark. Hard to see over there,” said John Wieber.

Officials say Ramirez was flown to Bayfront Hospital in Tampa in critical condition. Rider has been released from Fawcett Memorial Hospital. It is unknown at this time if the driver will face any charges.
