AUGUSTA, Ga. (AP) – A loaded handgun has been found inside a Goodwill clothing donation bin in Georgia.

According to an incident report, Richmond County sheriff’s Deputy Leslie Gaiter says a revolver was found inside the pocket of a coat that had been donated by an unidentified person in Augusta. The firearm, a fully loaded RG-14 revolver, had not been reported missing and was handed over to the sheriff’s office.

Goodwill employee Christine Butler tells WAGT-TV (http://bit.ly/1Y2pInW ) that an attendant noticed the gun by checking the pockets before putting the coat on the sales floor.

Barry Paschal, the senior director of marketing and communications for Goodwill Industries of Middle Georgia, tells the Augusta Chronicle (http://bit.ly/1TFDSF1 ) that it’s not uncommon for Augusta-area stores to find as many as three guns a year in donation boxes.
