Home health nurse accused of fraud heading to jail

FORT MYERS, Fla.- A Lee County nurse accused of stealing her patients’ identities will spend nearly one year in jail.

Lynn Schlosser, the wife of a former Lee County deputy, pleaded no contest in court on Tuesday, but a judge found her guilty of three counts of fraud. Schlosser originally faced eight counts of fraud, but five of those charges were dropped.

Investigators say Schlosser stole the identities of her patients and opened up credit cards using the names before going on spending sprees. She was discovered after some of her victims received strange phone calls and noticed discrepancies on their bank statements.

Schlosser has already relinquished her nursing license and will never be able to care for another patient again. She will also have to pay around $6,000 in restitution to stores like Macy’s, Target, and Firestone.
