PEMBROKE PINES, Fla. (AP) – A parking enforcement volunteer has been accused of impersonating an officer.

The South Florida Sun Sentinel (http://bit.ly/1Hasujo) reports 65-year-old Ian Darcy was arrested on charges including impersonating a law enforcement officer during an encounter with a driver Saturday night in Pembroke Pines.

An arrest report states Darcy stopped a man, telling him he was improperly parked and urging him to move his pickup. Police say Darcy pretended to be a police officer and threatened to write a ticket.

The arrest report says the driver, 22-year old Alexander Santana, didn’t believe Darcy was a real officer. Police say Darcy reached into the vehicle and turned off the ignition before pulling out a gun. Santana drove away and reported the incident to authorities.

It isn’t immediately clear if Darcy has an attorney.
