LEHIGH ACRES, Fla.- New documents detail the gruesome scene following three brutal killings at a Lehigh Acres home in August. Brian Hyde, 19, is behind bars accused of killing his aunt, pregnant cousin, and his cousin’s boyfriend at their home on 21st Street Southwest. Investigators say Starlette Pitts, 17, and her 18-month-old daughter hid in a bathroom while Hyde stabbed her boyfriend, Michael Kelly Jr., 19, to death. Hyde then kicked down the bathroom door and killed Pitts, who was six months pregnant at the time. Documents show Hyde washed her body and left it naked on the floor. Hyde also attacked and killed his aunt Dorla Pitts, 37, when she arrived at the home after work. Deputies say Hyde’s bloody foot and hand prints were found all over the house. Hyde was arrested after he was pulled over by Fort Myers police for driving on the opposite side of the road. The traffic stop occurred a few hours after the bodies were discovered. The 19-year-old has entered a not guilty plea to the killings.
