RSW to offer non-stop flights to Cuba in November

FORT MYERS, Fla. – A travel company will soon be offering non-stop flights to Cuba out of Southwest Florida International Airport.

The company, Por Cuba Viajo Express, is based out of Naples and offers a few flights to Cuba out of the Naples Airport. The flights currently offered leave on Mondays and Friday and have a connection in Key West. Tickets cost about $800.

“I saw the change coming,” said Yaslqui Salvador who works for the company. “It’s going to be huge, as of right now, we have a lot of reservations booked. The first flight is pretty much sold out.”

The company decided to find a way to offer direct flights out of Fort Myers as well, something they say has never been done. Starting in November, Por Cuba Viajo Express will fly non-stop from RWS to Cuba. The tickets cost $450 and the flights are all less than two hours.

To travel you’ll need your passport and a visa. The company offers the visa for $85, there are also package deals available with transportation and lodging.
