OCALA, Fla. (AP) – Police say an Ocala man kidnapped a woman at gunpoint because her boyfriend owed him $2,000 in drug money.
Ocala police on Wednesday said 21-year-old Devin Jacquan Jackson was arrested on suspicion of armed kidnapping after the woman texted her family during the alleged abduction.
The Ocala Star-Banner reports (http://tinyurl.com/pemnhyb ) that Jackson entered the woman’s apartment looking for her boyfriend, who left through the back door.
Police say Jackson told the woman she had to come with him to look for the boyfriend.
Police say the woman texted her family while Jackson drove her around with a gun on his lap.
Jackson has denied any wrongdoing.
