Missing Punta Gorda woman found dead in Fisherman’s Village

PUNTA GORDA, Fla. – Punta Gorda Police are investigating after finding the body of woman reported missing days ago.

Police said Bonnie Watts was last seen leaving her home on Slash Pine Circle around 11 a.m. on August 9th. A concerned family member contacted police the following day, after not seeing Watts return home.

Saturday, officers found Watts dead inside her vehicle at a parking lot near Fisherman’s Village on West Retta Esplanade. The Charlotte County Medical Examiner is investigating, along with Punta Gorda Police.
