NEW ORLEANS (AP) – New Orleans officials are touting efforts to raise awareness of available mental health resources in advance of the 10th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina. Officials said Wednesday that the commemorative activities associated with the anniversary could make for tense times for some in New Orleans who experienced the storm’s effects. Mayor Mitch Landrieu issued a statement encouraging residents to participate in the citywide commemorative activities, while keeping mindful of those who may be struggling with memories of the storm and its aftermath.
