Pro-Bowler back in Collier County

Southwest Florida football legend Edgerrin James was back in Collier County for his 6th Annual Youth Football Camp.

Hundreds of kids from Collier, Lee, and surrounding counties came for a little coaching from the former Indiana Colts four-time Pro-Bowler.

James is an Immokalee High School alum and said it’s important to remember where you come from.

“I think it’s important to show kids that it’s possible to make it, they walked the same streets that we walked, and you know, to give them just a little more hope,” said James.

First-year Immokalee High School head football coach Dale More said James is a huge asset to the community and his former team.

“It’s great for our community, he really reaches out to us because we’re his home school,” said More. “We actually have 70 kids here today that he basically made sure were able to attend the camp.”
