Fort Myers police arrest man in deadly DUI crash

LEE COUNTY, Fla.- Police arrested a man for the weekend crash that killed a passenger in his truck.

Bernardo Lazarin, 23, is facing charges for the deadly single-vehicle rollover crash that left his passenger, 34-year-old Juan Avila, pinned underneath his red Dodge truck.

Avila died on the scene of the crash at Ballard Road, just west of Kingsman Circle.

Authorities say Lazarin was found to be intoxicated at the time of the crash.

He was charged with driving under the influence causing death and driving under the influence causing a crash with property damage.
