Naples man gets life in prison for raping, kidnapping woman

COLLIER COUNTY, Fla.- Raymond Izquierdo will spend the rest of his life in prison for a robbing, rapping, and kidnapping a Naples massage employee at gunpoint.

It happened nearly three years ago at the Asian Massage parlor off of US 41 in downtown Naples.

In court on Friday, the judge told him no sentence short of life in prison would be appropriate for the vicious attack he committed.

“He will not be able to hurt or injury or create any kind of crimes against anybody in society anymore and we’re very satisfied with that.”

It was the maximum punishment, but a sentence Assistant State Attorney Steven Maresca said the victim is already living with.

He believes it forced her to move to another state. “She’s fearful of basically men because of what this man did to her.”

In June 2012, Izquiredo was captured on surveillance video walking into the massage parlor holding a rifle. He robbed the receptionist, sexually assaulted her, and then drove her to Cambier Park where he dumped her off half-naked.

“The community can be even safer in the fact that this man will not be on the streets to commit this type of crime again.”

Izquierdo was already a convicted sex offender at the time of the attack. In 2008, he was released from prison after serving more than five years for sexually abusing a child in Okeechobee County.

He is now deemed a sexual predator. Instead of going to trial, he decided to plead no contest to robbery, sexual battery and kidnapping in Feburary.
