Man steals 11 cellphones from Metro PCS

LEHIGH ACRES, Fla.- Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers is asking for the public’s help identifying a man who robbed a Metro PCS at gunpoint Monday morning.

According to detectives, the suspect entered the store, located at 5624 8th Street W. just before 11 a.m.

He immediately chatted with the clerk, inquiring about a phone. However once the employee turned around to look something up on his computer, police say the suspect pulled out a black handgun and demanded all the cash in the drawers and the safe.

In fear for his safety, the employee complied with the man’s demands. After grabbing all the cash, the suspect then swiped 11 new cellphones, which were still in the box.

The suspect is described as roughly 5 feet 10 inches tall with a very thin build. Anyone with information on his identity is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS (8477).
