Easter egg hunts around SWFL

FORT MYERS, Fla. – Easter is less than a month away, but you and your kids can get in on the fun as early as this weekend.

Southwest Florida is home to several Easter egg hunts. Lisa Weaver joined WINK News with details,

Annual Easter egg hunt from 10 a.m. to noon, Saturday, March 14, at Wa-Ke Hatchee Recreation Center, 16760 Bass Road, Fort Myers. Children up to age 12, their families and friends are welcome to enjoy a morning of hunting for eggs and visiting with the Easter Bunny. Bring a camera; refreshments will be provided. The egg hunt starts at 10:35 a.m. – right after the bunny’s arrival. Participation is $5 per child; adults can attend for free.

The North Fort Myers Community Park will have its Annual Easter Egg Hunt at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 28 at the football fields in the park, 2000 North Recreation Park Way, North Fort Myers. The event will feature prizes and candy for children ages 9 and under.

Veterans Park Annual Colored Coconut Hunt is set to begin with registration at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 4. Colored coconuts and candy filled eggs will be hidden in designated areas of the recreation center park grounds. Bring a basket and join the hunt. The hunt will be broken in to four different age groups with colored coconuts and eggs in each patch. Prizes will be given for special eggs and different colored coconuts. There will be a surprise visit from the Easter Bunny so be sure to bring a camera. Age groups are 2 and under, 3 to 5, 6 to 8 and 9 to 13. Cost $5 per child.

Estero EGGStravaganza will begin at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, April 4, and the registration deadline is noon Friday, April 3.  The egg hunt, crafts, refreshments and the opportunity to meet the Easter Bunny are for children age 12 and under. The cost is $5 per child. Children will be arranged in three groups: ages 3 and under; ages 4 to 7 and 8 to 12.

Caloosahatchee Regional Park plans a Baby Animals Preschool Program from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 1. Participants will meet at the campground entrance at 19130 North River Road. The cost is $5 per preschooler. A parking fee is required.
