Woman hospitalized in North Naples apartment fire

COLLIER COUNTY, Fla.- A woman is recovering from smoke inhalation after her apartment caught fire.

Smoke filled a five-story building in North Naples on Gulf Shore Drive just after noon.

WINK News is learning the woman inside had several pets who were taken to the vet for treatment.

One of her cats died in the fire.

“We don’t know exactly what happened, the fire department just told us she felt like her dishwasher exploded or something, but the sad part was she had two cats and a little dog,” said neighbor Joan Parker.

Residents who live below the apartment tell WINK News they had some water damage.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
