LEE COUNTY, Fla.- Southbound traffic on I-75 around mile marker 135 is still moving slowly after a truck burst into flames.

The driver of the truck tells WINK News he was delivering bathroom supplies to Collier County when he noticed smoke from the engine and pulled over. Clinton Hammond says his truck engine caught on fire.

“I feel real lucky. I was on my way down to Naples all of a sudden smoke from under the hood so I pulled over and grabbed the fire extinguisher. After I sprayed a couple of times, I noticed the flames started to spread, getting bigger. Noticed a liquid, what appeared to be oil leaking from it so I got away from the truck and just let it go,” said Hammond.

Hammond managed to get away unharmed.
