Evidence that helped clear Nate Allen released; heated interrogation with FMPD

FORT MYERS, Fla. – “He’s like at the massage place now… it’s so disgusting.”

In brand new surveillance video, taken from a business off of U.S. 41 and Colonial Boulevard, you see a black four door truck going through a parking lot near Naples Vapor.

Police now say the man behind the wheel masturbated in front of a 16-year-old girl. In her 911 call, the girl goes on to tell police, the man continued to follow her and touch himself.

“He kept sitting up so I could see, and he just kept looking at me.”

In a case of mistaken identity, the wrong man was put into the spotlight, local NFL star Nate Allen.
Fort Myers Police accused him of the disturbing crime, because his truck looks similar to one the girl described.

“I know what needs to be done will be done, and at the end of the day, justice will win.”

What’s disturbing, is how far the police went to prove he was guilty. New documents released show a detective began an interview with Allen more than four hours after he was detained.

Allen tells police he doesn’t know what he’s there for. When the detective accuses him of exposing himself, he says, you’ve got the wrong guy.

Her response? “No, no, no. We’ve gone through the identification process. She’s pointed you out. She’s described you. The entire 9 yards. Okay? I need you to be honest.”

The detective goes on to say, “you’re playing this little bs game with me.”

Police Chief Doug Baker is now calling for an internal review of the incident.

WINK News asked Fort Myers Mayor Randy Henderson what he thought. He said he was bothered by how long Allen was held that night, and says he’ll be watching that internal investigation very closely.
