Three Ave Maria football players charged with stealing school sign

AVE MARIA, Fla. – Three freshman football players at Ave Maria University were arrested Friday for reportedly stealing metal letters from a school sign.

In a Collier County Sheriff’s report, it stated the three were arrested early Friday morning in front of their dorm. Deputies said they were called to the university after a report that large white metal letters had been removed from the Ave Maria roadside sign overnight. The report stated due to recent thefts, surveillance cameras had been placed in the area of the sign.

After reviewing the surveillance video, deputies arrested 18-year-old Andrew Wilson, 18-year-old Ralph Olisma and 18-year-old Braelyn Rhodes. The report stated the three were seen in surveillance video taking the signs and then entering a dorm.

The three students were arrested for grand theft. In the report it stated each letter on the sign was worth $320.00
