Victims identified in Immokalee shooting, police look for suspect

IMMOKALEE, Fla.- WINK News is learning new details about a shooting involving two college football players.

Friends confirm Jackinson Marcellus is in serious condition after being shot in the face.

Deputies say there were at least three people sitting inside a car outside of the Crestview Apartments when bullets broke through the windows.

Inside the car were two college football players and a brother of one of the athletes.

JC Jackson, who plays for the University of Florida, and West Virginia athlete Jacky Marcellus were grazed by the bullets. Both walked away with minor injuries.

Deputies say Jacky’s brother, Jackinson, was shot in the face.

Collier authorities say one or two men walked up to the car and fired.

After the shots were fired, the car rolled into a fire hydrant.

Jackinson Marcellus was airlifted to Lee Memorial Hospital.

Witnesses say the three men were visiting friends while the two football players were home for Christmas break.
